1197 Where this episode is no joke Thursday, April 1, 2010 [1] [2]
Once again this year, we've had it with April Fool's jokes. Except for one. You'll see. If you're more tired of iPad than you are of April Fool's, skip the first half of the show where we recap other people's reviews since Apple refuses to give us an iPad early. Also, we debunk Microsoft's claims that Chrome is fundamentally insecure, which almost ought to be a joke.

1198 Tong tied? Frayed not Friday, April 2, 2010 [3] [4]
With Molly out covering the iPad launch for your local CBS stations, we're free to make wanton puns about knot theory. And we do. Plus Brian Tong gets his brain in knots trying to explain how it applies to tangled headphones. We also have the explanation for why iPad apps are ridiculously expensive. And we compare the JooJoo which is actually here, and explain why it's getting trumped by Apple.

1199 BOL analysts predict 100% chance of iPad talk Monday, April 5, 2010 [5] [6]
We didn't hit you with the iPad talk right off the top, because there's interesting news from Google, iPhone OS news, and a Microsoft mystery event! But eventually, we can't avoid it any more, thanks to an analyst to make fun of and Molly's hands-on review.

1200 Making the sausage Tuesday, April 6, 2010 [7] [8]
On our 1200th episode, we give you special, unprecedented access inside the inner workings of the show. Or, put more accurately, we screw it up a lot. In the news, what little there is post-iPad hangover, a federal appeals court ruled that the FCC lacks the authority to regulate ISPs, Microsoft's Pink project is a collection of cute words coming out April 12, and it's raining tablets.

1201 BOB: Big Ole BOL Wednesday, April 7, 2010 [9] [10]
Alternative "Big Ole" titles include "Big Ole Podcast," "Big Ole Bite of Intel's Giant Robotic Hamster," and so on. In the actual news, the Apple-Google war continues into mobile advertising territory, we debate the relative valuation of Foursquare, and Verizon resorts to shamelessly begging for the iPhone.

1202 Multitasking, iAds ... and Folders! Thursday, April 8, 2010 [11] [12]
In today's episode, we follow the Apple live-stream for earthshattering iPhone OS additions like multitasking (woo!), an interactive ad platform (woo!), and an innovative new app organization structure called ... Folders (WTF?). Also, the UK rushes through a big online piracy law, so that's going to end well, and Google Voice may be coming to the desktop. --Molly

1203 The potato radius Friday, April 9, 2010 [13] [14]
Pluto's in danger of insult again, as scientists decide that anything bigger than a potato should be a dwarf planet. Or something like that. We also dig into why Apple would suddenly disqualify any third-party compilers from being used to make iPhone apps. And the long-awaited iPod Nano scratch lawsuit is settled. Our national nightmare is over.

1204 Is the Kin Spot for real? Monday, April 12, 2010 [15] [16]
We're encouraged by several things about Microsoft's messaging phones, but the name isn't one of them. Especially naming a button on it the Kin Spot. But we did figure out what they're up to. We think. Also it's a bad day for developers as Apple and Adobe's fight somehow ends up with Adobe's CTO talking about swinign chickens, and Twitter angers its devloper crowd by acquiring Tweetie. At least the US is changing it's tune on ACTA... oh wait, no it's just getting worse on that too. We hate Mondays.

1205 Bizarro Upside-Down Day Tuesday, April 13, 2010 [17] [18]
Today is just baffling, frankly, for all of us. Twitter has a business plan, Opera Mini has been approved by the Apple App Store, the mobile Internet will soon overtake the fixed Internet, and despite a raging professional video game culture, Korea is trying to keep kids from gaming 24-7. But they NEED them! We're so confused! --Molly

1206 Lies, damn lies, and AT&T's lies Wednesday, April 14, 2010 [19] [20]
You would not believe the rants in this episode ... coming out of Tom. No, seriously. Something about AT&T's ongoing attempts to have their anti-regulation cake and eat your Universal Service Fund fees, too just sends him into a frothing fury. Plus, there's rage to burn on the U.S. government reporting that there are essentially zero facts or evidence to back up claims of billions of dollars in losses due to digital piracy.

1207 Dropping the EFF bomb on the RIAA and MPAA Thursday, April 15, 2010 [21] [22]
Warning: contains strong language (that will be bleeped by the time you hear this), but we frankly couldn't help ourselves when we saw the stuff the RIAA and MPAA want to do to your computers, border guards, the FBI, and Homeland Security. It ain't good. Also, Twitter makes developers mad again, and we are definitely not number 1 in broadband. And it hurts.

1208 Good News Friday marred by Bad News Friday, April 16, 2010 [23] [24]
We tried so hard to enjoy various good news items today, like how the DirecTV TiVo is coming in 2010, Sony is climbing up the game console sale charts, and the tech sector is finally hiring again and making money and stuff! But ... you know. There's also Sony's refusal to refund retailers who give money back to unhappy PS3 owners, Ireland trying to censor the Internet, and Ning working as hard as possible to lose every single one of its users. We tried, though. We really did. --Molly

1209 So this iPhone 4G walks into a bar... Monday, April 19, 2010 [25] [26]
The HTC Droid Incredible is available for pre-order, and no lie, we drooled a little bit over it. We also uncover the Google conspiracy to rid the world of http://. But the weirdest of all was our discussion of the dramatic weekend rumor mill involving the purported iPhone 4G found on a bar in either San Jose or Redwood City. Or maybe it's a fake.

1210 Hug a n00b Tuesday, April 20, 2010 [27] [28]
Ubisoft is doing away with paper manuals, which means gaming n00bs will be forever stuck in virtual corners trying to figure out the right button combination for re-load. Also, Apple wants its secret iPhone back and Molly just wants you to know that next time you find a top-secret prototype in a bar, you should call her instead of Gizmodo. Oh, and if you want porn, buy an Android phone, says Steve Jobs. Good day for Android.

1211 Adobe quits Apple Wednesday, April 21, 2010 [29] [30]
Adobe says it's taking its ball and getting off that dumb old Apple platform altogether. Apple says, hey, we super totally don't care because we're making bajillions of dollars and plan to continue doing so in the near future. But the ones who really suffer here are the children, who can't code on the iPad unless they're willing to suck it up and learn Objective C. Hey, that's what it was like when I was a kid.

1212 No no no no no. No. No. Thursday, April 22, 2010 [31] [32]
On today's show, a perfectly innocent-sounding caller makes a terrifying suggestion, McAfee bricks a whole lot of computers all at once, including like 1,000 inside a hospital, and Dell (no, seriously, Dell) is apparently making some seriously drool-worthy phones. Rrrowwwrrr.

1213 No iPad for you! Friday, April 23, 2010 [33] [34]
Is this the ultimate early adopter penalty? If you buy more than two iPads to send to your friends overseas or give to your family, you risk a lifetime ban on future purchases? That just can't be right. Also not right: the sweet little child who calls tell us how to get porn on the iPhone. Just upsetting. Plus: Palm deathwatch and Facebook's privacy untangled (er, sort of).

1214 Floppy disks and boobquakes Monday, April 26, 2010 [35] [36]
Natali Del Conte joins us in the studio to discuss really important issues such as boobquake day, cartoons, and violent video games. Oh, come on, we also discuss Google's failed attempts to reinvent the mobile phone sales paradigm, unfounded causal links between violent video games and sociopathic behavior, and the dangers of colonization. Good show, guys.

1215 Law & Order: Lost Prototypes Unit Tuesday, April 27, 2010 [37] [38]
Dun DUN! Police break down the door of a Gizmodo editor's house looking for evidence of some sort of crime involving the lost iPhone prototype ... meanwhile, Nokia has to kind of pathetically blog about how someone took a prototype of the Nokia N8 and they would really, really like it back. It's a weird world out there. Also, the "Boy Genius" has been outed, Samsung might make a Google TV, and we're storing your data for you in Unicorn Town.

1216 Geek soap operas Wednesday, April 28, 2010 [39] [40]
Between the legal drama playing out in the South Bay (Gizmodo raid! Dubious warrants! Potential counter-suits!) and the latest developments in the Infinity Ward/Activision internal drama (Involuntary labor! Withholding royalties and bonuses!), it's pretty much the Days of our Lives around here. Also, no Hulu in the UK, and Comcast gets a big, steaming pile of poo from its users. But at least it's Golden Poo.

1217 Where's the digibeef? Thursday, April 29, 2010 [41] [42]
Steve jobs picks a digital beef, or digibeef, with Adobe over Apple's holdout on Flash, Palm and HP get married, we talk about the Sony Dash and whether or not we will give it to our mama's for Mother's day. Also, Natali knows nothing about the Boy Scouts, and Donald knows way too much about Lifetime, Television for Women. And Natali is also a little too familiar with iPhone Apps for those over 17.
